Sandy Albano, Director of Human Resource Services (HRS), has
retired after more than 31 years of service at Stony Brook.
Spanning three decades, Sandy has worked in Residence Life, the
University Counseling Center, EAP and Human Resource Services.
Sandy notes that "a significant portion of his life has
transpired while working at Stony Brook", adding "it has been a
joyous ride"! We wish Sandy well in his retirement.
Lynn Johnson has been named the Director of Human Resource
Services effective December 21, 2000. Lynn has worked in HRS for
twelve years, serving as the Manager of Training, State
Classified Appointments & Recruitment and subsequently as
Assistant Director of HRS. In March of this year, Lynn was named
Associate Director of HRS, and assumed responsibility for RF and
State Payrolls, Classification & Compensation, Recruitment and
Training. Lynn has been responsible for spearheading customer
service outreach for both the Research and State transactions.
She has been instrumental in streamlining personnel services and
successful in piloting new initiatives in response to campus
needs. In addition to Lynn's HRS responsibilities, she was
