4. EAP Lunchtime Learning, Could My Child Have ADHD
Guest Speaker, Carolyn Colwell, LCSW-R
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is one of the most over diagnosed and under diagnosed conditions of childhood. Recent public debate about ADHD has made it sound like a fad. But ADHD was first described by a German physician in the late 1800s. ADHD appears in many guises and disguises. In fact one form of ADHD does not involve hyperactivity at all. It also has a wide variability, ranging from very mild to very severe. It can affect academic performance, success in sports, socialization, self-esteem and family harmony. This workshop will help you: Identify the symptoms of ADHD; Understand how the ADHD brain works, and Develop a roadmap for action.
