Microsoft has developed a Compatibility Pack to ensure that users (students, faculty and staff) can exchange documents between different releases of Word, Excel and PowerPoint. If you are not planning to upgrade to Office 2007 at this time, then you should install the Compatibility Pack. 2. Lawson Training

The next Lawson Training Class for the month of May will be held on 5/8/07 at 10am the class will be held in the IT Training Room, (HSC-Library - Level 3 Computer Classroom - Room 133A), "For All Hospital Employees". To attend this class please contact Michele Thomas, Lawson Support Specialist, ext. 4-7805. All hospital employees should have a SBUH main computer sign-on. There will be 2 parts covered in this class, the first half is for ordering from any of the Storerooms in the Hospital and the second half will cover ordering from an outside Vendor. I suggest that all employees who are either new to Stony Brook Hospital or if you wish to have a refresher course, please attend this class.

3. Phi Delta Kappa Open House Formation Meeting Announcement

1. Join the Cody Center Walk for Developmental Disabilities on Sunday, June 3

The second annual Cody Center Walk for Developmental Disabilities will take place Sunday, June 3, at Stony Brook University. The purpose of the walk is to raise awareness of autism and other developmental disabilities.
The original 2007 walk date (April 15) was cancelled due to a Nor’easter. All event details will remain the same. All registration fees collected for the April 15 date will be applied to the June 3 walk.
Registration for the walk begins at 8:00 am in the Student Activities Center on West Campus. The fee is $20 per adult, free for students and children. The walk begins at 9:30 am and finishes at 11:00 a.m.

2. CSEA Local 614 First Annual Charity & Scholarhip Golf Outing

3. Knights of Columbus Charity Gala to Benefit the Sunrise Fund at Stony Brook

The Knights of Columbus is holding its Charity Gala on Saturday, May 26, 2007 at the Hyatt Wind Watch, Islandia, New York. Cocktails begin at 7:00 pm with dinner following at 8:00 pm. The event will honor Mr. Alfred Tisch, former Suffolk County Sheriff. 3. 2007 Chuck Priore W.I.N. Youth Football Camp

Are you ready for some football! The Chuck Priore W.I.N. Youth Football Camp is open to all students ages 7 13. It is our goal at the Chuck Priore Football Camp to improve a young man's performance on the football field through quality individual instruction. Under the guidance of Head Coach Chuck Priore and the Seawolves Football Staff, each young man will learn sound football fundamentals. The cost is $395.00 per athlete. 4. Department of Campus Recreation Summer Kayaking Trips

The Department of Campus Recreation will be organizing 3 kayaking trips in Port Jefferson Harbor this summer. The dates are as follows:
1. Friday, June 15th @ 10:30am
2. Friday July 13th @ 10:30am
3. Monday, August 8 10:30am
(Please note time may vary due to tide schedule). Registration Fee is $25.00 per person/trip which includes kayak rental and lunch. Undergraduate students registered for summer classes are free. This trip is for beginner/intermediate kayakers in good health and will be approximately 4 to 5 hours in length. Only students, faculty & staff of the University are eligible to participate. 5. Summer 2007 Stony Brook University Football Camps

Are you ready for some football!
1. Intensive 2-day padded football camp for all positions. Every athlete will experience 2 days of individual, intensified coaching incorporating highly organized teaching progressions. This is open to all athletes entering 9th through 12th grade and runs July 21st - July 22nd. Cost: $250.00/Overnight Campers, $200/2-Day Campers and $125/1-Day Campers. OR:

6. Campus Recreation Coed Summer Softball League Now Forming

The Department of Campus Recreation Coed Summer Softball League is now forming. Registration Deadline is June 4th. League will run from June 7th Aug. 14th. Games will be played at 5:30pm & 6:45pm on Tues &/or Thurs nights. Teams will consist of at least nine people (4 women minimum) on the field at all times. Registration Fee is $200.00/team. 7. Steve Pikiell Basketball Camp At Stony Brook University

Steve Pikiell and the entire Stony Brook Men's Basketall Staff is running 3 sessions of basketball camp this summer for boys ages 8-16. These three weeks are "Session I" Monday July 2-Friday July 6(There will be no camp Wednesday July 4th), "Session II" Monday July 9-Friday July 13, and "Session III" Monday July 23-Friday July 27. All 3 sessions will run 9 am to 4 pm. The cost of Session I will be $250 and the cost of Sessions II and II will be $300. Any Stony Brook employee will be entitled to a 10% discount. 9. Canada's Ian Tamblyn (Musician/adventurer/environmentalist)to perform a benefit show at University Cafe Sunday June 10th 7 P.M.

Ian Tamblyn is one of Canada'a national treasures. His songs have been recorded by Sylvia Tyson, James Keelaghan and Lynn Miles, among others. He has also coupled his music with his environmental awareness to create ambient instrumental music featuring hammered dulcimer and synthesizer.
Opening the show is Sag Harbor's Caroline Doctorow who combines original songs with great interpretations of classics by Dylan, Fred Neil, Tom Paxton, and others.

1. Herpes Vaccine Study

Did you know that 1 out of 4 women have Genital Herpes? and 90% of those who have it, don't know they do! Volunteer women needed.
Confidentiality maintained. If you are a women between the ages of 18-30,you may be eligible to participate in a Clinical Research Study at Stony Brook University Medical Center. A blood test will be done for detection,and if you qualify,you may receive an experimental vaccination which could protect you from Genital Herpes at no cost to you. 2. How well do your lungs work?

Are you overweight? Are you a never smoker? If so, the Division of
Pulmonary Medicine at Stony Brook Hospital would like to invite you to consider entering an investigational study of aerosol deposition. The research project is being performed to investigate the pattern of particle deposition in the lungs of patients who are overweight. For
