2. Americans With Disabilities Act Awareness Training For Supervisors and Managers
Statistics say one in five people have a disability. This is one minority group that any one of us could join at any given moment in our lives. Employees need to know their rights and responsibilities. Supervisors and managers should have working knowledge of the ADA, a civil rights law and know how best to serve employees with disabilities. Learn how and when to refer to the office of Disability Support Services.

3. EAP Lunchtime Learning-Labyrinth Walking: Pathway to Stress Management and Improved Performance
Take a break from the stress of modern life by going back a few thousand years. People are discovering anew that walking the concentric circles of ancient labyrinths can create inner peace and healing. EAP invites you to join Labyrinth Builder, Ed O'Connell, for a refreshing introduction to the Red Dragon Labyrinth as a walking meditation practice.
Take road that leads to SB Union loading dock (East side) and follow path on the RHS that would bring you between Gray and Irving/O'Neil. Labyrinth located in front of Woods facing Wang Center. Look for Red Dragon sign marker and the 7 big circles made out of red chips.

There will be 2 parts covered in these classes, the first half will cover ordering from any of the Storerooms in the Hospital and the second half will cover ordering from an outside Vendor. 1. Hip and Knee Pain Seminar
Seminar will include diagrams of the hip and knee with discussion of their normal anatomy, what can go wrong in either joint such as tendonitis, bursitis, synovitis, meniscal tears and osteoarthritis. Signs and symptoms of a problem, how to get a good diagnosis e.g., how to give a good history, x-rays with examples and the physical exam and what it tells us. Treatments for various problems are discussed including, diet, nutrition, exercise, medication, arthroscopy and hip and knee replacement surgery. There is also a question and answer period.

1. Department of Campus Recreation Summer Kayaking Trips
The Department of Campus Recreation will be organizing 3 kayaking trips in Port Jefferson Harbor this summer. The dates are as follows:
1. Friday, June 15th @ 10:30am
2. Friday July 13th @ 10:30am
3. Monday, August 8 10:30am
(Please note time may vary due to tide schedule). Registration Fee is $25.00 per person/trip which includes kayak rental and lunch. Undergraduate students registered for summer classes are free. This trip is for beginner/intermediate kayakers in good health and will be approximately 4 to 5 hours in length. Only students, faculty & staff of the University are eligible to participate. Registration is limited to 16 participants per each trip. For more information, please contact David Hairston at 632-7120.

2. Department of Campus Recreation Outdoor 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament
The Department of Campus Recreation will host a 3 on 3 Outdoor Summer Basketball Tournament on June 13th . The registration deadline is on June 12th. Games will be played from 5:30pm - 8:00pm. Teams will consist of at least 3 people with a maximum of 5 people on each roster. Registration Fee is $40.00/team. Undergraduate students participate for free. 3. Steve Pikiell Basketball Camp at Stony Brook University
Steve Pikiell and the entire Stony Brook Men's Basketall Staff is running 3 sessions of basketball camp this summer for boys ages 8-16. These three weeks are "Session I" Monday July 2-Friday July 6(There will be no camp Wednesday July 4th), "Session II" Monday July 9-Friday July 13, and "Session III" Monday July 23-Friday July 27. All 3 sessions will run 9 am to 4 pm. The cost of Session I will be $250 and the cost of Sessions II and II will be $300. Any Stony Brook employee will be entitled to a 10% discount. Ikebana is the unique art of Japanese flower arrangement. 1. How well do your lungs work?
We are studying both overweight and normal weight participants. Are you a never smoker? If you have no known lung problems, the Division of Pulmonary Medicine at Stony Brook Hospital would like to invite you to consider entering an investigational study of aerosol deposition. The research project is being performed to investigate the pattern of particle deposition in the lungs of patients who are overweight and comparing to the pattern in normal weight people. Cold Spring Harbor Protocols is a definitive, interactive source of new and classic research techniques. The database is fully searchable by keyword and subject, and it has many novel features such as discussion forums and personal folders made possible by online publication. Its coverage includes cell and molecular biology, genetics, bioinformatics, protein science, and imaging. Protocols are presented step-by-step and edited in the style that has made Molecular Cloning, Antibodies, Cells and many other CSH manuals essential to the work of scientists worldwide. Protocols will be continuously expanded, updated, and annotated by the originators and users of the techniques.
