1. West Campus and HSC State Employees with Graduating Dependent Students
Unmarried dependent students, between the ages of 19-25, who graduate from an accredited secondary or preparatory school, college or other educational institution, may continue health insurance coverage up to 3 months (or to age 25, if that occurs sooner) following the end of the month in which course requirements for graduation are completed. The enrollee must provide the Benefits Department with a PS 404 and a letter from the school verifying that the dependent has graduated and the graduation date. The form and information may be obtained on the HRS website www.stonybrook.edu, follow the link to "Forms and Publications" and click on "Benefits", then Health Insurance Transaction Form(Non-Student Employees) PS 404 or, by calling the Benefits Office at 2-6165.

1. Employee Assistance Program and University Police Lunchtime Learning Road Rage: How to Protect Yourself
June 16, 2004, 12:00-2:00, Women's Studies Colloquium Center
If you drive, you're probably aware that the road rage phenomenon is widespread in America today. This training will show a fifteen-minute video from the National Safety Council which covers the rationale for keeping cool, calm and controlled in today's stressful and potentially dangerous driving environment. You will receive practical tips for keeping your own anger in check and how to avoid becoming a victim of other drivers' Road Rage.
Please feel free to bring your lunch.

2. Tutor Training Workshop (Stony Brook Adult Literacy Center)
Are you interested in becoming a volunteer Tutor? The Stony Brook Adult Literacy Center is in need of volunteers to provide tutoring in basic skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing English). We provide tutoring services for adults who are at least 16 years of age and out of school, read and write at or below the sixth grade level, need to improve their basic English conversation skills and understanding of American culture.
Volunteers will attend a workshop here on campus that will prepare them for becoming a tutor.

4. Biomedical Engineering Seminar: Computer-based Physiological Measurements

1. Philanthropic Partnership Creates the "Endless Wellness Children's Fund"
A new philanthropic partnership has been established between Stony Brook University Hospital and Christine Carlton, owner of T. Carlton's Studio and Spalon in St. James. This collaboration will allow the creation of the "Endless Wellness Children's Fund" to benefit children's services and programs at Stony Brook.
Stony Brook University Hospital receives twenty percent of the proceeds from sales of gift certificates in the University Hospital Auxiliary Gift Shop, as well as from special promotions on site. This state of the art salon offers beauty and wellness services for both men and women with special packages available for upcoming Mother's Day, Father's Day and graduation gifts.
Look for T. Carlton's staff between the cafeterias on May 6th and June 14th. Treat yourself of that special someone to the gift of wellness while making a donation to the children's programs. For more information on services available, visit their website at www.tcarltonssalon.com.

1. 2004 Stony Brook Girls Soccer Camp - July 19th to 23rd
The Stony Brook Women's Soccer Staff and Team would like to invite girls between the ages of 7 and 16 to their summer soccer camp. There will be two sessions that will run the week of July 19th to 23rd. The day session will run from 9:00am to 3:30pm for players between the ages of 7 to 16. The evening session will run from 4:30pm to 7:30pm for players between the ages of 11 and 16. We have three separate programs to meet the needs of players of all ages and abilities. The players will have two training sessions per day as well as one small-sided and one full-sided game, daily. The players will receive a camp T-shirt and an official SBU soccer ball. 2. Campus Recreation Coed Volleyball Tournament
The Department of Campus Recreation is now accepting registration for our one-day Coed Volleyball Tournament to be held on Tuesday, July 20th in the Pritchard Gymnasium. Teams will consist of at least six players (minimum 3 women) on the court at all times. Tournament will run from 5:15pm - 8:30pm. Registration Fee is $80.00/team. All games will be played in one night. Registration deadline is July 16th. Only students, faculty & staff of the University are eligible participate. 5. Campus Recreation Women's Tennis League Now Forming
The Department of Campus Recreation is now accepting registration for our Women's Tennis League. The league will begin on Tuesday, June 8 and run through August 4th. 2. Defensive Driving Class Offered in July
The Empire Safety Council Accident Prevention Workshop emphasizing traffic safety awareness, which is proven to reduce both accidents and traffic citations. Your attitudes and behaviors affect the way you drive. Learn to be a defensive driver and save 10% on your auto insurance (liability and collision) and reduce up to four points on your driving record. This is a six hour course. 1. Does Your Child Have ADHD, Tic Disorder or Tourette Syndrome?
The ADHD/Tic Disorder Project at the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science at SUNY Stony Brook is conducting a study of children with ADHD and/or Tic Disorder/Tourette Syndrome. Children will receive a thorough diagnostic evaluation. A medication study is also available. There is no charge to families for these services. 2. Are You Depressed? We Can Help!
The Department of Psychology at Stony Brook University is conducting up to a 6 month clinical trial involving medication with all participants and the addition of psychotherapy with some. Must be willing to travel up to two times a week for up to 3 months to the site and be available late afternoons/early evenings. If you have been feeling depressed (sad, down) most of the time for at least two years, you may be eligible to participate. All evaluations and treatments will be provided free of charge.
