3. Deadline for nominations of Honorary Degrees extended to May 10, 2004

The deadline for the honorary degrees' nominations has been extended from April 26, 2004 to May 10, 2004. Unfortunately, many received the letter calling for nominations very late. Therefore Dean Lawrence Martin, Chair of the Committee, decided to extend the deadline to allow sufficient time for the preparation of nomination files.
The honorary doctorate is the highest form of recognition offered by the University. Nominations should reflect the diversity that exists on our campus. Honorees should be people who are still active and to whom we are among the first to offer this recognition. We ask that you maintain confidentiality and that you do not contact nominees nor in any way communicate to them that they are being considered for an honorary degree. If you have any questions please contact your Dean or the Committee's Executive Secretary, Ms. Ignacia Ruiz at 2-7035.
