2. TEAMWORK: What's Trust Got To Do With It?
Have you ever been on a team where you couldn't seem to get anything done? Or the team members just couldn't work together? It is quite possible that the team members did not trust one another; lack of trust is one of the main impediments to effective teamwork. This video training program demonstrates how to build and maintain trust among team members.
Date: August 24, 2005, Time: 9:30am - 11:30am, Place: Administration Bldg., Room 192
To register for this workshop, please email a registration form (found on Human Resource Services website) to Pat Lore (plore@notes.cc.sunysb.edu).

3. Mastering Performance Reviews
Just as faculty members judge students on their performance in courses through papers, tests, classroom discussion, etc.., managers judge employees on the quality and quantity of their work performance. These judgements are made every day, every week, every month, depending on how closely the manager works with or observes his/her employees. These informal ratings form the basis for what we now call the more formal "performance appraisal" or "performance review". This program is designed to:
Clarify the manager's role as a communicator, counselor, and mentor.
Demonstrate effective communication techniques, including giving constructive feedback.
Guide the manager through the process: from preparing for and conducting the appraisal session, through to concluding the appraisal session, with follow-up.
Sensitize the supervisor to multicultural and diversity issues.
Date: August 17, 2005, Time: 9:30am - 12:30pm, Place: Admin.Bldg., Room 192
To register: email a registration form (on Human Resource Services website) to Pat Lore (plore@notes.cc.sunysb.edu).
