3. Time to renew your library books - please!

Faculty, Emeritus, Professional and Management Confidential staff, who currently have borrowed library material from the Main, Music or Science/Engineering Library, with a due date of 5/18/05 are urged to renew at this time. Her expertise is on such topics as social and relationship skills, assertiveness, communication, and dating. She has taught at Cornell University, Adelphi and Suffolk Community College. 2. 2005 Stony Brook Girls Soccer Camps

The Stony Brook Women's Soccer Staff is running 2 soccer camps this summer. The first camp is for players in grades 9 - 12 and will run the week of June 27th - June 30th from 9:00am to 3:00pm. This camp is designed specifically for club and high school players who are searching to take their game to the next level.
The second camp is designed for players between the ages of 7 - 13 the week of July 25th - 29th. The camp will run from 9:00am to 3:30pm. We do offer both team and individual training sessions for players who have a strong commitment to improve. 5. Adult Chamber Music Workshop Concert

SBU Pre-College and Community Music Programs present the Adult Chamber Music Workshop Concert on May 22 at 5 pm in the Staller Center Recital Hall. Sam Kornhauser, the Stony Brook University Head Football Coach is running two exciting summer camps here on the Stony Brook University campus. The Non-Contact Youth Football Camp will be held June 27th thru July 1st 9am-4pm. Camp tuition is $285 for the week. 7. Weekend Football Camps

Paul McGonagle, the Stony Brook University Offensive Coordinator, is running two exciting weekend summer camps here on the Stony Brook University campus. The Air Raid Camp will be held July 23rd and 24th. Camp tuition is only $200 for the weekend. The OL DL Camp will be held June 25th and 26th. Camp tuition is only $200. 2. Elevated Lipids & Cholesterol - An Integrative Approach To Optimize Levels

The Division of Wellness and Chronic Illness in the Department of Family Medicine will be conducting four, two-hour group visits for patients with elevated lipids and cholesterol.
Participants are examined and evaluated individually to assess cardiovascular risk, nutrition, exercise and stress levels as well as to determine if their lipid management is optimal. The group visits review factors that contribute to cardiovascular risk and increasing levels of lipids and insulin and addresses how they can be decreased with whole foods, exercise and stress reduction. Also reviewed are genetic influences, indications for medications, their side effects profile as well as the most current evidence-based information on supplements and vitamins.
The series is scheduled on May 25, June 1, 8, 15, 2005 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at 33 Research Way, Stony Brook Technology Park.

The Stony Brook Union Crafts Center offers a variety of summer classes for your enjoyment. These are adult, non-credit courses and are open to everyone at the University and in the community. 6. Open House at Music Basics for Kids

Bring your child to visit a Music Basics for Kids class on May 21. See how our hands-on approach to music theory deepens and enriches a child's musical understanding and enjoyment. You are welcome to visit any one of the three levels of classes:
Level I 9:30 - 10:15 Kindergarten
Level II 10:20 - 11:10 First through Third grades
Level III 11:15 - noon Fourth through Sixth Grades
Music Basics for Kids classes are held in the Choral Room (#0113) located in the basement of the Music building at Stony Brook University.
Visiting children are most welcome to participate in class and should wear comfortable clothing suitable for movement.

The Long Island Cancer Center is creating a database of blood samples and clinical information to help researchers better understand why some individuals develop breast and prostate cancer while others do not.

We are looking for men and women, 18-50 years of age, to participate in a non-invasive study.
Participation in this protocol requires that volunteers be free on two consecutive weekdays including two hospital overnights For example: Sunday night to Tuesday afternoon, or Tuesday night to Thursday afternoon

15. Recruiting healthy, right-handed boys, ages 6-11 years, who are not on medication, to take part in a neuroimaging study.

The Cody Center, in collaboration with Brookhaven National Laboratory and the General Clinical Research Center (GCRC) at Stony Brook University, is currently recruiting healthy, right-handed boys, ages 6-11 years, who are not on medication, to take part in a neuroimaging study.
The purpose of the study is to increase our understanding of how language is processed by the brain in the presence of Autism Spectrum Disorder by using an MRI technique called functional MRI (fMRI).
Compensation: $40.00 Gift Certificate to BORDERS Per Visit
The procedure does not involve any injections, use contrast material or radiation. MRI is considered a safe procedure in children.

2. Mania Screening Days

Does your child have bipolar cycles? Stony Brook Child Psychiatry's Mania Screening Days for Parents of young people between the ages of 10-17 will be held on May 19,20 and 21. There will be brief lectures on mania/bipolar disorder as it occurs in children. Parents will be given the opportunity to complete some questionnaires.
