Stony Brook Hillel Programs & Events Campus Jewish Life Links
We are delighted to inform you that the Delancey Street Glatt Kosher Restaurant at Stony Brook University is under the hashgacha of the Vaad Harabonim of Queens.

Delancey Street will open for business Tuesday, September 4th for the 2007-2008 School Year.

Rabbi Yoel Adelman of the Young Israel of Smithtown continues to be the Rav Hamachshir representing the Queens Vaad. We believe that this will help us ensure that Delancey Street serves the needs of the widest possible spectrum in the Jewish community and enables everyone to enjoy freshly prepared glatt kosher meals when they are on campus. Stony Brook has achieved excellence in many educational, scientific, and cultural endeavors and we hope that this will place Jewish life on the campus at a comparable level. We invite you to visit us and enjoy the excellent food at Delancey Street. We also hope that you will recommend Stony Brook to potential college students as a great value in education that is close to home and has many amenities.

Kosher Dining on Campus

Kosher Dining at Stony Brook has been transformed with a NEW glatt kosher deli/restaurant that recaptures the atmosphere
and flavors of a real New York kosher delicatessen. Located on the first floor of the Union building, this brand new dining
facilty offers regular popular deli items plus a full course daily menu of varied selections. It is open for lunch and dinner daily
as well as for selected Shabbat meals. Take out or eat in our newly renovated dining room! The new menu selections are
served a la carte and include deli sandwiches, salads, vegetarian options, snacks, deserts, fresh fruit, a beverage
counter, and of course - fresh deli meats and traditional sandwiches and entrees.

All meals are prepared to strictly Glatt Kosher standards under the supervision of the Vaad Harabonim of Queens, Rabbi Yoel Adelman, Young Israel of Smithtown, Rav Hamachshir. When the University is in session during
Passover, the entire kitchen and dining room is kashered and freshly prepared Kosher l’Pesach meals are provided.

Other kosher products are also available for sale in the Union Station Deli and SAC Seawolves Market as well as the
cafeterias in the Student Activities Center, Kelly Quad, Harriman Hall, and the University Hospital. Students are advised
to inspect each product for a hechsher, or kosher endorsement, before purchase.
