Managing Data with Access
NCE 317 • 5 sessions • Fee: $299
This course offers an introduction to the most widely used database management program. An integral and powerful part of the Microsoft Office suite, Access aids budget managers, accountants, and office managers by efficiently organizing customer and inventory information. Topics include how to create databases, forms, filters and reports.
Prerequisite: Introduction to Windows or the basic computing skills as described in our self-test.
Note: In order to save their work, all students are required to bring a flash drive to class. (Get more information.)

Required Text: Microsoft Office Access 2010 Step-by-Step (ISBN #0735626928). Cost of text is not included in the course fee. Students must bring textbook to the first class meeting.

Advanced Topics in Access
NCE 317.1 • 4 sessions • Fee: $239
Add power to your database by creating custom forms and reports, and learning how to use advanced techniques with tables, queries and macros. There will be a review on the use of relational databases and mastering relationships.

Cancellation and Refund Policy: Students are enrolled upon receipt of payment. Once payment is processed there is a $20 non-refundable cancellation fee. Unless otherwise stated, student cancellations must be requested in writing to amy.margolies@stonybrook.edu, a minimum of 7 days prior to the start of the course. Full refunds will be given for courses cancelled by the School of Professional Development only.
